Louis C. McIntosh Sr, 84, of 107 Greenwood St, passed away Tuesday (July 7, 2015) at Rochester General Hospital.
Born in Hornell, NY, January 9, 1931, the son of Clair B. and Mary Ellen Boyle McIntosh, he had resided in Arkport for over 43 years before moving to Canisteo in 2002. He had been employed for the Hornell School District as a custodian at the Hornell Sr. High School and the North Hornell School for 36 years. He was a member of the Hornell Moose Lodge and the former Eagles Club. Louis served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1951-1954.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Ellen Evans in 1998 and his brother, Fred McIntosh in 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Smith McIntosh to whom he was married for 64 years, his daughters Ann Marie (Tony) Patti of Arkport, and Susan (Dennis) Tinker of Canisteo, his son, Louis (Kathy) McIntosh Jr. of Alabama, his nine grandchildren, Cory, Mary, Kyle, Joshua, Chad, April, Anthony, Jamie, and Stacey, great grandchildren, Reese, Bella, Lyla,Addie, Lainey, Kaydence, Bane, Harley, Sadie, Zoe, Bryce, Claire, and Laila, nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender- Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 PM with Rev. Martin J. Mahoney officiating. Burial with military honors will he held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing make memorial contributions to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.
