Lorraine A Spicer, 68, of County Highway 11, passed awaySaturday (January 19, 2008)at Bassett Healthcare, in Cooperstown.



Born in Hornell, December 31, 1939, thedaughter of Eldyn and Laura Rail Lonsberry,she graduated from Hornell High School, and latermarried Leon Spicer on June13, 1959 who survives. Lorraine was a member of the First BaptistChurch of Hornell, where she was involved in the Jack and Jillsprecschool program, and had attended the New BethelBaptist Church in Garner, NC, where they had resided for 4 years. She lovedcooking and baking, and most recently made 1000's of her famous sugar cookiesfor the troops in Iraq .She was an enthusiastic cheerleader for her families sporting events, lovedbaseball, squaredancing, musicals, cleaning, being ahomemaker, and loved to host huge family Christmas, and birthday dinners, butmost of all was her enormous love of her husband, children, grandchildren, andgreat grandchildren.



She was predeceased by her parents, a granddaughter HeidiSpicer, and a brother Bud Lonsberry.



She is survived by her husband Leon, 4 daughters LaurieSpicer of Hartwick, Cheryl (Richard) Wheeler ofHornell, Connie (Tim) Plank of Hornell, Traci (Mark) Atkinson of Clayton, NC, 2sons David Spicer of Newport Beach, CA, Jeffrey Spicer of Hornell a sisterBeverly Rohallaof Hornell, a brother Victor (Rosemary) Lonsberryof Stanley, 11 grandchildren Cpl Andrew (Brooke) Spicer, BrandonnDominquez, Samantha Spicer, Justin Converse, Brittany Wheeler, Matthew Wheeler,Collin Wheeler, Rachel Plank, Mackenzie Plank, Taylor O'Brian, Noel Atkinson,great grandchildren Hayley Wright, Madison Wander,Timothy Spicer, and grandpets Duby,Mikey, and Princess.



The family will be present 6-9pm Tuesday, atthe Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home,

354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where Funeralservices will be held Wednesday, at 11:00AM, with Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery.
