Lorma Harrington, 100, of Center Street passed away peacefully on April 16, 2021 at Jones Memorial Hospital.

She was born in the Town of Allen in Allegany County, on February 16, 1921, the daughter of James B. and Josephine Patterson Van Buskirk. She married Edward Harrington in 1938.

Lorma was a hairdresser in Angelica for many years, and had also worked for the VA Hospital in Canandaigua, New York. Lorma was very patriotic and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #414 in Angelica. She was also a member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Angelica.

She was predeceased by her mother Josephine B. Patterson Poore in 1978, and father James Blaine Van Buskirk in1964, and her brothers Charles in 1962, Hugh in 2004, and James in 2020, her son Richard Lee Harrington in 2016, her daughter in law Nancy Harrington in 2020, and granddaughter Wanda Harrington Schifelbine in 2007.

She is survived by her sons Edward Paul (Janet) Harrington and John Charles Harrington all of Angelica, many grandchildren, great grandchildren. Lorma will be greatly missed by all, especially her granddaughter Holly Harrington who lived with her from the age of 8 years old.

The family will be present on Wednesday (April 21, 2021) to receive friends from 11am-1pm at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Angelica. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 1:00pm with Father Dennis J. J. Mancuso officiating. Burial will be at Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica.
