Lloyd Drake age 85 of VanSkiver Road, passed away peacefully on Friday (September 19, 2025) surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Jasper, NY on January 17, 1940 the son of Darwin Drake and Nellie Johnson Drake. He had worked construction, dairy farming, and as a bus driver and janitor at Jasper Central School. He was always willing to help anyone in need, and was an incredible mentor and role model for many. He was a passionate hunter and always looked forward to deer season, and homemade bread. Lloyd will be always remembered by his family as a true family man.

He was predeceased by his parents, and 2 heavenly born babies Nathan and Julie.

He is survived by the love of his life Cheryl VanSkiver Drake whom he married on June 25, 1965, his 6 children Jeff (Liz) Drake, Aaron Drake, Melissa (Steve) Persichilli, Jeanne (Lyle) Wade, Emily (Ed) White, Jason Drake, 21 grandchildren Colby, Amber, Abbey, Steven, Patrick, Mitchell, Russell, Garrett, Rebecca, Jessi, Kelli, Taylor, Devan, Shelby, Derek, Briana, Jacob, Benjamin, Joshua, Brandon, and Mathew, 19 great grandchildren Jonathan, Celestia, Theron, Madeline, Karma, Logan, Katie, Jackson, Mason, Holden, Sorin, Kalyra, Addilyn, Baby Brustsman, Evan, Emalia, Serena, Elnora and Kloe, and his favorite dogs Brownie and Curley Sue.

The family will be present on Wednesday (September 24, 2025) from 11am-1pm at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home 6 Spruce Street in Canisteo, where a Funeral Service will take place 1:00pm with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
