Lldon E. "Tiny" Jamison, 75, of

5360 State Route 36,passed away Monday (December 4, 2006) at Strong Memorial Hospitalin Rochester.



Born in Hornell, March 7, 1931, the son of Lldonand Fanny Rowley Jamison, he had residedin Canisteo all his life. He was agraduate of Canisteo Central School,Class of 1949. He worked for a shorttime for Corning Glass, and served as the Chief of Police for the Village of Canisteo from 1956 until 1966. He thenbecame the Chief of Police for the Villageof Alfred, a position heheld from 1967 until his retirement in 1993.He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. He also actively operated his farm on the

Willow Bend Road inCanisteo during all these years.



He was a graduate of the FBI Academyin Quantico.VA, a member of the Canisteo Civic Club and the Canisteo Rotary Club, TheWestern New York Chief Association, the New York State Chief Association, theCanisteo American Legion Post, a member of the Board of the Southern TierExtension Rail Authority, the Canisteo Alumni Association, a life member of theCanisteo Historical Society, the Steuben County Republican Committee, and atthe time of his death served as the District 9 representative of the Steuben CountyLegislature, a position he held since November17, 2000.



He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, JohnJamison.



He is survived by his wife, Myrtle SabinJamison whom he married in 1952, threesons: Jeffrey ( Elizabeth) Jamison of Livonia, Bruce (Mari) Jamison of Canisteo and Terry (Kathleen) Jamison of Churchville, 8 grandchildren andone nephew.



The family will be presentto receive friends from 1-3 PMand 6-9 PM Wednesday and from Noon until 2 PMThursday at the Brown & PowersFuneral Home,

6 Spruce St.,Canisteo where funeral services will beheld following calling hours on Thursdayat 2PM. Rev. Donald Maynard will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside,Canisteo.
