Linda A. Cole, 76, of 7 Bennett Street, passed away Thursday (October 15, 2015) at her home.



Born in Hornell, May 18, 1939, the daughter of Karl and Marion Schrader Willey, she was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1957 and Alfred State College in 1959. She was employed as a secretary for the University of Rochester after graduation, and later at the former Karl Clinic in Hornell. She then became a devoted and caring wife, mother and housewife.



She was a member of Our Lady Of The Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Hornell. She had been a communicant of the former St. Joachim's Church in Canisteo.



Linda enjoyed gardening, camping, playing scrabble, and was a great baker and cook. After retirement, she and her husband Bob enjoyed extensive traveling.



She was predeceased by her parents, and her son, Michael Cole in May of 2015.



She is survived by her husband, Robert Cole to whom she was married at the former St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Hornell on December 31, 1960, three daughters, Mary Frances (Barry) Thompson of Greenwood, Jane (Ron Rhude) Lorow of Hornell and Deanna (Chet Bull) Cole of East Greenbush, NY, her son, Robert (Renee) Cole Jr. of Massachusetts, her brother, Cliff (Joan) Willey of Maine, and her daughter-in-law, Michele Cole of Canisteo, 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo on Monday evening from 6 -8 PM and again on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Friends are invited to meet the family at St. Ann's Church in Hornell for the celebration of her funeral mass on Wednesday (Oct. 21, 2015) at 10 AM. Committal services will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
