Linda S. Bacon, 71, Bellwood, Pa. passed away Monday evening at UPMC Altoona, Pa.
She was born in Hornell, April 17, 1946, a daughter of the late Ernest James and Luella Margaret (Evingham) Knight. On June 16, 1972, she married Richard L. "Dick" Bacon at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Canisteo, New York.
Surviving are her husband; five children, Ronaland M. Boyd of Roaring Spring, Pa., Bert Edwin James Clark of Tyrone, Pa., Amy Marie Noel of Riggles Gap, Pa., Richard Leroy Bacon, II of Scranton, Pa. and William M. Bacon of Bellwood, Pa.; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Rodney Knight of Canisteo, NY, John Knight of Corning, NY, and Gary Knight of Cohocton, NY; two sisters, Carol Ritter of Hornell, and Marjorie Henry of Canisteo.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Doris June, Jimmie, Archie and Jack Knight.
Linda formerly worked as a nurse's aide at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, and later retired as a food service worker at Mercy Hospital, Altoona.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star of New York and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She volunteered her time as a cook at Fort Roberdeau, and was a Red Cross Disaster Services volunteer, a Cub Scout leader and also volunteered for ACLD (Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities). Linda enjoyed baking, cooking, and vegetable and flower gardening.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at Brown and Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce Street in Canisteo. A funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at the Funeral Home with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Committal services and Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo..
