Leroy J. Archer, 83, of 8199 County Rte. 70, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (September 22, 2010) at his home.
Born in Randolph, July 19, 1927, the son of Lawrence and Helen Covert Archer, he had resided in Howard since 1978, where he operated the Archer Farms. He taught Junior High Boys in Sunday School at the Randolph Baptist Church for over 25 years, and was a 15 year member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Bath. He served as church greeter at the church for many years. He is survived by his wife, Muriel Damon Archer, who he married on June 26, 1953, 2 daughters, Celia (Bennett) Holmes of Michigan, Christine (Michael) Carter of Kansas, 3 sons, Stephen (Lydia) Archer of Bloomfield, James Archer of Randolph, and Bruce (Kimi) Archer of Avoca, 3 brothers, Willis (Gretta) Archer of Randolph, Vern (Helen) Archer of Tennessee, and Ron Archer of Florida, 18 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Friday and from 10 AM until 11AM Saturday at the Harvest Baptist Church, 7568 Bath Hammondsport Road, where a memorial service will follow calling hours on Saturday at 11 AM. Rev. Alan Lindmark will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery.
