Leila F Collins,94, passed away Saturday (September 23, 2006) in, Dunwoody, Georgia



Born in Olean, April 26, 1912, the daughter of RalphV and Eva M Doty Ringer, shehad been a lifelong Hornell resident on

State Street in Hornell, before moving to Georgia in 2002, to be closer to her son Roy. Leila was the facilities manager for theSperry and Hutchinson Green Stamp Company , where she retired in 1977, after 25years of faithful service. She was anactive member of Ivanhoe Chapter No. 160 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50years. Leila volunteered to "work" the polling booths for many years, becauseshe felt it was her civic duty. For over ten years she worked as a teacher'saide in the Hornell Public School System. She was affectionately know toteachers and students alike as "Grandma Lee", her hobbies were playing euchrewith her friends, playing the piano and gardening.



She was predeceased byher husband Roy W Collins, her sisterMarcena Brownell of AkronOH, and her brother Ralph Ringer ofPrattsburgh.



She is survived by sonRoy M (Martha) Collins of Cumming Georgia, as well as several nieces, nephewsand cousins.

The family will be present 11am-1pm Wednesday,at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home,

354Canisteo Street, Hornell, where funeral services, and an Eastern Star Service willbe held at 1:00 PM, Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be at Hornell Rural Cemetery.
