Leatrice (Lee) Brutsman of Jasper passed away on January 25, 2022 at Elderwood in North Hornell.
Lee was born on June 11, 1925 in Hornellsville to Clayton and Margaret (Roosa) Myhers.
Lee and Robert G. Brutsman were married in Rochester on July 23, 1948.
Lee spent most of her childhood in South Hornell, graduating from Canisteo Academy in 1942. After graduation she entered the work force, working at Eastman Kodak making aircraft cameras for U.S. bombers for the war effort during World War II. During the years following work at Kodak, she worked at various jobs in the Hornell area. Lee began her career with the United States Postal Service as postal clerk, advancing to Post Master for the Town of Jasper in 1973. She held that position until her retirement in 1986.
After working as the Town of Jasper Librarian for many years she continued her love of books as a member of the Jasper Library Board.
Lee was always in the stands cheering on her children and grandchildren during all their sports, music, and school activities. Lee was a fierce fan of the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills.
Lee is survived by her two children, Nickie (Tom) Adams and Gerald (Helen Jean) Brutsman of Jasper, her 8 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren and several sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Lee was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 52 years, her brothers Ross and Eldred Myhers, and her sisters Delia Huff and Audrey Clancy.

It was Lee’s wish to donate her body to the University of Rochester Medical Center for research and study. A Celebration of Lee’s life and burial in the Jasper Cemetery will be held at a later date.
