969 Almond Road,was received into the arms of his lord and savior on Sunday(October 5, 2008)shortly after arrival at St. James Hospital.
Born in Blossburg, PA,September 11, 1940,the son of Francis and Mary (Persing) Johnson, he hasbeen a resident of Hornell for the past 27 years. Larry was considered a "Jackof all Trades", and had been employed at the former K-Mart, Mercury Aircraft aswell as Corning Glass. He drove a taxiin Bath forseveral years. He was a member of the Living Waters Church. Larry Sangcountry music for many years and later used his musical talent to sing for thelord.
He was predeceased by his son Lawrence E. Johnson Jr. onJuly 12, 1981, and a grandson, Jacob Johnson/
He is survived by hiswife Judy (Deming Whitehead) Johnson whom he married on June 24, 1978, hischildren, Lynn Johnson of Tioga PA, LaRue (Sandra Whitehead) Johnson of Hornell, Daryl (SueAnn) Whitehead of Avoca and Christopher Whitehead of Bath, his former wife andmother of 3 of his children, Janice Learn Chamberlain, one brother, Arnold Johnson of Westfield PA,four sisters, Mary Ann (Clifford) Pollock ,Myra Shaffer , Judy (John) Costello, and Jane Drake all of Pennsylvania,six grandchildren, Dave (Cyndi) Johnson and ZacheryJohnson both of Pennsylvania,Christopher and Sarah Johnson of Hornell andStephanie and Jessica Whitehead of Avoca, two great grandchildren, Ava and Jacob Johnson both of Pennsylvania, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 3-5 &7-9 PM Tuesday, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 CanisteoSt, Hornell where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 AM , RevPhilip Casterline officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery,Canisteo.
