L. Joseph Kenyon, 73, of 84 Mechanic Street, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Monday (January 21, 2013) at Jones Memorial Hospital.



Born in Wellsville, January 27, 1939, the son of Giles M. "Jack" and Wanda (Dunn) Kenyon, he was a graduate of Belmont Central School. Joe was retired from Wincraft in Burlington, New Jersey, moving back to Angelica in 1994. He was a member of the Angelica Fire Department, where he attained 2nd Lieutenant, he was also a member of the KOC in Beverly New Jersey, attaining 3rd Knight, a former member of the Angelica Lions Club, and the Angelica Grange. He was very active in the Boy Scouting program, helping and volunteering countless hours, and was most recently awarded the Mentor pin from the last 4 scouts. Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather.



He was predeceased by his parents, his step mother Loretta Mulligan Kenyon, 2 brothers David and John Kenyon.



He is survived by his wife Joyce Greene Kenyon whom he married March 30, 1957, 4 daughters Wanda (Brent) Warner of TX, Victoria (Dennis) Koons of VA, Patricia Kenyon of Angelica, Jennifer (Brandon) Davis of Alma, 2 sons Bradley (Sue) Kenyon of Black Creek, Lawrence "Joe" (Nicolette Sciolino) Kenyon II of Amherst, sister Juanita Barnes of Belmont, ½ sisters Kathyrn (Edward) Aman of Palmyra, Amelia Morrissey of Canandaigua, Martha (Ian) Dougal of Geneseo, 2 brothers J. Donald (Barbara) Kenyon of NJ, Dale Kenyon of Alabama, ½ brother Thomas (Tami) Kenyon of Friendship, 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews special family friend Ben Lyon, and all his scouting family.



The family will be present 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue, Angelica, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Carl Kemp officiating. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery.
