Young age 69 of Lake Road, passed away unexpectedly on Monday (April 24, 2023) at her home. She was born in Cuba, NY on August 20, 1953 the daughter of Donald Thompson and Katherine Kingsley Thompson, and graduating from Belfast Central School “Class of 1971”. Laureen was retired from Allegany County as an Index Clerk. She spent her free time with her family especially her grandchildren, and also liked to read and watching her shows. She was predeceased by her parents, and siblings Ronald Thompson, Donald Thompson, Delores Jefferies, Monica Penz, Janice Thompson, Roland Thompson, Mark Thompson, Roger Thompson, Patricia Baker, and her first son James Keith Thompson. She is survived by her children Dustin (Sarah) Young, Ryan (Jessica) Young, Katelin (Brian) Hodgkins, her siblings Susan Wilson, Margaret Thompson, Lynn (Linda) Thompson, her grandchildren George Merrell III, Carsyn Merrell, Killian Hodgkins, and Hailey Young, and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are with the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Angelica. To send a remembrance please visit www.brownandpowersfuneralhomes.com or on Facebook @brownpowersfh, the family is being assisted by director Chester A.
