Laura A. Freeland, 95, formerly of
26Pine Street, went to be with the Lord Friday (April 6, 2007) at the Hornell Gardens .
Born in the Town Of Canisteo,November 10, 1911,a daughter of Peter and Rena Campbell Howland, she was a life long resident of the Canisteo area. She had beenemployed at the former Up- To- Date and the Canisteo Silkmill.She was a member of the former Free Will Baptist Church in Adrian, and the Canisteo Valley Historical Society. Shehad been active in the functions of Democratic Party in the Canisteo area forseveral years.
She was predeceased by her son SheffordFreeland in 1945, husband Paul Freeland in 2000, her greatgrandson, Jeremy Coombs in 2004, as well as her sisters, Flossie Wood, EstherMcCourt and Vera Hauber and her brother, Victor Howland.
She is survived by her daughter Joan (Clarence) Coombsof Hornell, 6 Grandchildren : Judy(Chuck) Leach of Bath, Indy (Dave) King of Perkinsville,Danial (Debra) Coombs of Canisteo, Robin ( Denise)Coombs of Perkinsville, Jeanine (Tim) Doan of Elmira Hightes and Kelly ( Karl) Thompson of Canisteo, 14 greatgrand, 14 great great grandchildren, 12 great great great grandchildren nieces& nephews.
