Larry A. Plank, 65, of Ct. Rt. 27, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on Tuesday (September 12, 2017) at home.
Born in Hornell, NY, January 21, 1952, a son of Jesse and Clara (Chapman) Plank, he had resided in the Steuben County area most of his life. Larry was a jack of all trades; he collected antiques and was an outdoorsman. Most people will remember Larry for being a gunsmith and will recall his shop "Luke's Gun Shop" in Canisteo. Larry was an awesome person and a hero to his family. He was a Good Samaritan and a friend to everyone. He was a Naturalist and believed there was a cure for everything in nature.
He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers; Bill, Jesse and James Plank.
He is survived by his loving fiance´; Renee Souder of Canisteo, 4 sons; Jeffery Plank of Canisteo, Scott (Stacy) Thornton of Penn Yann, Corey Thornton of Florida and Ryan Hunt of Corning, 2 daughters; Christina (Bill) Teeters of Hornell and Sherry (Paul) Stewart of California, a brother; Jack (Pat) Plank, 2 sisters; Mary (Charlie) Stout and Bonnie Saltzer, 1 stepson; Brandon Watson of Tennessee, 2 stepdaughters; Sabrina McMindes of Howard and Megan (John) Murray of Howard, grandchildren; Cayla and Ethan Plank, Jacob, Kiana, Mason Teeters, Taedra Lackey, Ashlee and Brandon Thornton, Marisa Chambers, Jacob and Nathan Thornton, Alexandria Dillon, Danielle, Spencer and Aubrie Thornton, Christy, Amanda, Alexander, Gregory and Evan Stewart, Trent and Nathan McMindes and Ethan Bennett.
