Kitty E. Faulkner, 83, of
1797 County Route 50, went Homepeacefully Monday (November6, 2006) with her family with her.
Born in Dansville, January 19, 1923, thedaughter of Melvin and Catherine Smidth, she marriedJohn O. Faulkner on October25, 1941, and together, their marriage took them to Oakfield, Tonawanda, Rochester, and South Dansville.Kitty was a homemaker, but first and foremost, a wife and mother. She and John enjoyed playing cards, dancing, swimming and boating on Hemlock Lake,reading, motorcycling, cooking ,but most of all snowmobiling. She willbe remembered for her "smile that lit up a room". She was a member of the South Dansville Methodist Church,Oak Hill Grange, the former Priscilla Chapter # 525, Order of Eastern Star, theBeary Bedrazzled RedHatters, and most recently, Ivanhoe Chapter #160, Order of Eastern Star. She never hesitated to help the SouthDansville Fire Department or anyone else.
She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Melvin Smidth, her step-father, Leonard Huber as well as onedaughter Linda Lee, and two sisters, Phyllis Ellis and Veronica Amphlett.
Her family includes her husband of 65 years, John; herchildren, Catherine (George) Ott of Perkinsville, Elizabeth (Merle) Wyantof Arkport, Anita Slocum of Arkport, John W. (Linda) Faulkner of Arkport, andKelly (Brian) Moore of Arkport ; her grandchildren, Michael A. Wyant, Lisa Wellington, Debbie (Mark) Auckland, Stephanie(Matt) Linehan, Jon and LyndseyFaulkner, Brandon and Tyler Moore, her great grandchildren, Lucas and Julia Wyant, Maria Santiago, Josiah and Lauren Linehan, her sister, Janet Carey of Leicester, hersister-in-law Onalee Faulkner and nephews and nieces.
The family will be present to receive friends from 1-3 and6-8PM Thursday at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St,Hornell where the Order of Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 7:30PM Thursday. Funeral services will beheld on Friday, at 10:00AM. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Town Of Dansville.
