Kathy L. Purcell, 60, of 1796 County Rd 50, passed away peacefully Sunday (October 2, 2016) at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Hornell, June 3, 1956, the daughter of Robert and Genevieve (Bowles) Feenaugty, she was a lifelong area resident. Kathy was employed at Gunlocke where she had worked for 16 years. She was tough and stubborn but, was the rock of the family. Kathy was a very social person, who absolutely adored her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father Robert Feenaughty and her brother Kenneth Feenaughty.
She is survived by her mother Genevieve Feenaughty of Arkport, her son Robert Sanford of Arkport, 2 daughters Charlene (Orian) Scott of SC, Ashley (Ben) Petteys of Arkport, her sister Vicky Burgess of Cohocton, 6 grandchildren Tylor Crate, Austin Miller, Chantel Miller, Vincent Miller, Traeh Clemons, Braydin Wing, her niece Shauna Burgess of Cohocton, her great niece and nephew Shaunta Green, and Zachary Green.
The family will be present 2-6pm Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home 6 Spruce Street in Canisteo, where a funeral will take place at 6:00 PM, with the Rev. Patrick Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo.
