Kathryn H Labourr, 93, of State Route 961 F, passed away peacefully Saturday (October 8, 2011) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Arkport, March 22, 1918, the daughter of E. Stewart and Hettie (Lacy) Hull, she was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Arkport Central School. She had also attended Keuka College, and graduated Hornell Business School. On June 4, 1949 she married Donald C. LaBourr and was predeceased by him on February 28, 2006. Early in her career she had worked for Steuben Trust Co., and later assisted her father as Hornellsville Town Clerk and briefly took over the job upon his passing. Kathryn was a 80 plus year member of the Arkport Presbyterian Church joining in 1930, and participated in various aspects of the church including, the Women's Circle, the Financial Treasurer for 44 plus years, and was also a member of the Arkport Firemen's Auxillary. Her hobbies included flowers, flowering plants, birdwatching, dabbled in stamp collecting, bells, candles, baking, sewing, photography, wind chimes, whirly gigs, and inspirational reading.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Donald C. LaBourr, and sister Ann Eisenhardt.
She is survived by her son Mark LaBourr of Arkport, nephews Jamie (Peg) Eisenhardt of Alfred, Harvey Labourr of Rochester, John Labourr of Queensbury, Donald Labourr of Brier WA, a niece Judy Judge of Queensbury, and sister in law Beth Labourr of Hudson Falls.
A Memorial service will be held at the Arkport Presbyterian Church on Friday (October 21, 2011) at 11:00am, with the Rev. Steve Jewell, and with a luncheon immediately following at the church. Burial will be at Arkport Cemetery
