Katherine E. Wood, 72, passed away Thursday (September 17, 2009) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in Rochester, July 1, 1937, the daughter of and Mr. & Mrs. Roberts, she had resided in Rochester until moving to Hornell in 1983. Katherine loved puzzles, crocheting, knitting, sewing, fishing, cooking shows especially Emerald, visiting with neighbors and most of all her family.
She was predeceased by her Husband Leo in 1991, One son, Leon Wood in 1969, two grandchildren, Ted Wood Jr. in 1993 and Gary A. Cline Jr. in 2002, one brother, Jack Roberts and one sister, Shirley Higgens.
She is survived by two sons, Ted (Louise) Wood and Leo Wood III both of Hornell, four daughters Helen (Martin Pernesky) Morgan of Hornell, Katherine Cline of Hornell, Anne (Charles Bennett) of Springwater and Tracy (Tony) Delill) Wood of Hornell, one step-son, Leo Wood Jr. of Hornell, two step-daughters Carrie Butler of Hornell and Sue Wood of N.C. 11 grandchildren, Linda M. Cline, Dylan Lowe, Stephanie Wood, Nicholas Wood, Leo Marino, Dakota Delill, Michael Bennett, Jamie Bennett, Christina Wood, Cheyenne Wood and Kimberly Wood as well as several great-grandchildren.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11Am until 1Pm on Monday (September 21, 2009) at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will follow calling hours at 1PM with Rev. Max Vroman officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Canisteo.
