Jules V. Powell Sr., 88, of The Oaks, passed away Tuesday (January 1, 2008) at hishome.
Born in Clarksburg,WV, January 7, 1919, the son of Benjamin and Melanie(Richards) Powell; He served in the US Army as a navigator during WWII. He was aundergraduate or
West Virginia Univeristy and agraduate of Washington State University where heobtained his Master's degree. Jules was employed as an agricultural economistfor the US Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Christ EpiscopalChurch of Hornell.
He was predeceased by his 6 brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret ( Wilson) Powell and 1 son Jules V. Powell Jr.both of Arkport, 2 daughters Amy (Randy) Rummel ofCanisteo and Margaret (Andy) Blair of Lewisville NC, as well as 5 grandchildrenMelissa Rummel, Emily Rummel,Jeremy Blair, Hudson Blair and Maxwell Blair.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on January 19, 2008 at 11am at the Christ Episcopal Churchin Hornell with Rev. Thomas Gramley officiating.Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home,Hornell.
