Joyce Elaine Mess
JoyceElaine (Biddle) Mess, formerly of Hornell, peacefully went Home in CanaseragaFriday morning, and now walks and talks with Jesus. She had fought a brief butcourageous battle with cancer. Joycewas a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt who reallyenjoyed handcrafting, needle work and crocheting. She was a prodigious creator of Christmasstockings and decorations which grace many family homes with ornaments, snowflakes,garlands, and crocheted figurines.
She waspredeceased by her father and mother, Ward and Pauline Biddle, also of Hornell,her husband of 55 years, Paul Mess, lastyear and her son, David Michael Mess in1981. She was also predeceased by her siblings, brothers, Richard and Paul Biddleand sisters, Phylis Carpenter andCarolyn Weichman.
Surviving are a daughter, Elaine Mess of Arkport, ason, Paul (Karen) Mess of Canaseraga, 3 grandchildren; Elizabeth (David) Gilesof Arkport, Jayson (Michelle) Mess of Hornell and Anthony (Marianne) Mess ofCanaseraga, 7 great grandchildren, brothers,Charles (Joyce) Biddle of Arkport, Dana Biddle of Canisteo , sisters-Kay Marie (James) Wyant of Arkport and Clio (Rick) Gerbes of Canisteo, manynieces, nephews and her special 4-legged friend "Buffy".

There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a MemorialService at the Larger Parish Churchin Canaseraga on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jesse Flint will officiate. A dinner for family and friends will followthe service.
