Joseph C. Ross, 65, of 7127 N. Main St. Ext., passed away early Thursday morning at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Waverly, September 4, 1946, the son of Joseph T. and Arlie Case Ross, he was a graduate of Sayre High School and had resided in Hornell since 1972. He had been employed for several years as a manager for the Electrolux Corp. in Hornell. He later became a self-employed real estate investor. Joe served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed camping, motor cycling, and fishing, In his spare time, Joe also enjoyed searching for valuables with his metal detector.
He was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen Ross of Hornell, his daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Litzler of Florida, his son, Jeffery (Linda) Doan of Maine, his sister, Rose Marie Hennessey of Florida and his brother, Carl (Liz) Ross of PA., 3 grandchildren, Miles and William Litzler and Haley Doan, his mother-in-law, Eleanor Tinker of Hornell, and 2 sisters-in-law, Kay and Jim Terwilliger, and Janet Buckley both of Hornell, special friends, Russ and Carolyn Harwood, nieces & nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 4 PM until 7 PM at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell where funeral services and military honors will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
