Joseph C. Beaver,65, of

480 Maple City Drive, passed away unexpectedly at 9:16AM on Friday (June 10, 2005) at Strong Memorial Hospitalin Rochester.



Born in Hornell, July 13, 1939, the son of John andLoretta McCarthy Beaver, he had resided in Hornell his entire life. Hewas a graduate of Hornell High School, Classof 1957, and received his RegisteredNursing Degree from St James Hospital School Of Nursing in 1982. Joe was employed as a forklift operator from1960 until 1975, and enjoyed a nursing career from 1982 until his retirement in2002. He had worked locally at St JamesHospital and the Steuben County Health Related Facility in Bath. Following his retirement, he worked forthe Green Thumb Program. He was a communicantof St. Anns Church in Hornell.



Joe was an avid Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan, lovedclassical music, and especially enjoyed playing drums and traveling. He will be remembered for the pride he had inhis family.



He was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, Francis "Frank"Beaver.



He is survived by his wife, Helen Hilyard Beaver with whom hecelebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this past May 14th,one daughter: Cynthia (Larry) Fairman of Canisteo, two sons: Erich "Rick" (Penny) Beaver of Hornell, Stephen (Tammi) Beaver of Hornell, two brothers: Jack (Kay) Beaver of Hornell, James (Mary Kay) Beaver of Hornell. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, DanielleFairman, Larry Fairman Jr, Hiliary Woodward, Jeremy Fairman and Hannah Beaver,2 great grandchildren, Thomas Beaver and Allison Woodward. Several nieces,nephews and cousins.

The family will be present to receive friends from 6 PMtill 8 PM Monday at the Bender-Brown& Powers Funeral Home,

354 Canisteo St., Hornell where funeral services will followcalling hours at 8 :00 PM, Deacon Robert McCormickofficiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery,Canisteo.
