Jon L. Green, 55, of
108 1/2 East Main Street, passedaway Thursday (January 15, 2009) at his home.
Born in Corning, May 21, 1953, the son of Louis and MamieDaniels Green, he had resided in Corning his early life,in Minnesotafor several years and in the Hornell - Canisteo area since 2002. He was amember of the Friendship Baptist Churchin Corning andattended the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church.Jon served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1977 to 1983.Prior to his illness, he was employed at Alstom inHornell. He was also a member of theHornell VFW Post.
He is survived by his fiance´, Valerie Denning of Hornell,his mother, Mamie Green of Horseheads,2 daughters, Kaihida (Jeremy) Shireman of Iowa and Tyra Greenof Bath, his son, Isiah Green of Hornell, two Step-children, MistieDenning and Joshua Denning both of Canaseraga, hissisters, Joan (Sherman) Mason of VA., and Janis (Ruben) Bailey of Corning, hisbrother, James (Linda) Green of Iowa , one grandson Zorena.
Honoring Jon's wishes, there will be no calling hours.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Services at the BuenaVista Wesleyan Church on Monday at 3PM with Rev. Edward Crandall officiating.
