Born in Hornell, January 21, 1948, the sonof John Clarence Stephens and Eloise Denhoff Stephens,he had resided in this area all his life. He was agraduate of Canisteo Central Schooland had been employed at the former Morrison Knudsen.
He was predeceased by his father and grandson, David Troy.
He is survived by hislong time companion, Martha Steward of Greenwood, his mother, Eloise Messing ofCanisteo, 4 daughters- Wendy Stephens of Fremont, Laura (Mike) Novac ofWisconsin, Melanie (Chuck) Clayton of Hornell, Jenny Stephens of Hornell, 3sons, John (Linda) Stephens III of Wellsburg, Jeff Stephens of Canisteo,Michael Stephens of Hornell, 3 Sisters, Virginia (Harold) Hilyard of Canisteo,Barbara (Norman) Hurd of Tenn., Betty Drake of Hornell, 1 brother, LarryStephens of Canisteo, 2 step-daughters- Christina Dolph of Hornell , AnitaDolph of Addison, 1 step-son, David Dolph Jr. of Hornell. severalgrandchildren, nieces & nephews.
