John Howard Sikso formerly ofGreen Acres mobile home park N. Hornell died September 18, 2008 in WellsivilleManor.
Born July8, 1917 in Hornell the son of Andrew and Florence (Goho) Sikso, he was married July 16, 1938 in Hornell to the Former EvelynDunham who survives.
A resident of Hornell for most of his life, he was agraduate of Hornell High School. He servedwith the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946 and received the AmericanService Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal and the WWII victory medal.
He was employed for 27 years by the city of Hornell as an ambulance driver, retiring in1962.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish andattended St.AnnsChurch and St. Ignatius Loyola church inHornell, former member of the Hornell Moose Lodge #210. He was an avid hunterand fisherman and loved his garden.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters; Mary(Jim Wade) Satter of Angelica and Marti (Charlie) Bradt of Shenandoah Tx, fourgrandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He waspredeceased by his parents Andrew and Florence,one brother Charles, two sisters, Margaret Brewer and Florence Hughes ofHornell and one grandson, John Distefano of Livonia.

The family will be present to receive friends at theBender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-6PM, prayer service to follow. Burial will bein St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
