John F. Pelletier, 86, of 40 West Main Street, Angelica, passed Thursday (Feb. 28, 2013) away peacefully with his wife, Fleurette, by his side. They would have celebrated 61 years of marriage in June.
Born August 8, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Joseph and Dorothy Pelletier (Lyons).
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as Radarman Third Class aboard the destroyer escort, USS Hollis, during World War II.
He worked for 32 years as a linotype operator before he and his wife relocated from Long Island to Angelica in 1988. Together they went on to open the Angelica Inn Bed & Breakfast, as well as Heritage Antiques and Coffee Shop. John used his carpentry skills and endless energy to restore 5 different buildings on Main Street in Angelica.
John had a lifelong passion for speed skating, skiing, hunting and golf which he enjoyed sharing with whoever was available! An avid golfer, he spent many hours playing on the Six-S Golf Course.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his son, John R. Pelletier.
Surviving are his wife and children, sons: Eric J. (Debbie) Pelletier, Tom A. (Terry) Pelletier. Daughters: Fleurette (Steven) Gall, Anne M. Pelletier, Denise R. (Peter) Kasbohn, Kathryn W. Pelletier, and 18 grandchildren.
A celebration of John's life will be held at Gospel Fellowship Church, 4996 Hood Road, Belmont, NY on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
