 John W. O'Connor, 78, of
 
 
 41 Fulton Street, passed away Saturday (March 10, 2007) at St.James Mercy Hospital.
 
 
 
 
 Born in Hornell, August 2, 1928, a son of Earl and Edith Cassidy O'Connor,John had been a life long resided of Hornell
 
 
 
 
 John served his country from 1946-1953 in the U.S. Army
 
 
 He attended Hornell High School until he leftfor the service then received his GED, and attended Alfred State Collage.
 
 
 
 
 On June 3,1967 John married the former Christine Pollinger who survives
 
 
 
 
 John was employed as a custodian for the Hornell schooldistrict retiring in
 
 
 
 
 John will remembered for his love of his family, the bigband area, a great sense of humor andwas known to play a mean game of pool.
 
 
 
 
 He was a member and past commander of the Canisteo American Legion,Hornell American Legion and the loyal order of Moose in Hornell.
 
 
 
 
 He was predeceased by a sister and a brother, Vivian Bennettand Bernard O'Connor
 
 
 
 
 He is survived by his wife, Christine, four daughters: Connie O'Connor, C. Anne(Paul) DelMonte, both of Naples Fl. Rebecca ( Harmon) Katz, of Lancaster Pa. and Elizabeth ( Terry)VanScoter, of Arkport.
 
 
 Two sons: Stephen (Julia) O'Connor, and Scott (Sandra) O'Connor,of Naples Fl.
 
 
 
 
 One Brother: Richard O'Connor of Fl.
 
 
 
 
 12 Grand Children :Mayon , Maraene, Mikaela , Kacie,Megan and Emily O'Connor,
 
 
 
 
 Haley Delmonte, Austin, and Jeremy Katz

 354Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00AM with military honors, theRev. Paul Emery officiating. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
