John A. Nisbet

John A. Nisbet, 89, of Ravine St, passed away Monday (October 4, 2010) at the Bath VA Medical Center.
Born in Potter County, PA, November 10, 1920, the son of Lynn and Myrtle Saxton Nisbet, he had resided in Hornell most of his life. John worked as a machinist for the Former Foster Wheeler Corp. in Dansville and enjoyed hunting, farming and most of all, his family. John served his Country in the United States Army during WWII.
He was predeceased by his parents as well as one step-son, Louis Lewis, three brothers, Lynn, Ray and Phil Nisbet, two sisters, Helen Bowers and Leona Zimmerman.
He is survived by his wife Carol whom he married in 1992, two sons, John Nisbet of Hornell and Sam (Shirley) Nisbet of Canisteo, two step-sons, Curtis (Carol) Lewis of Almond and Robert E. (Renee) DeCeu of Canisteo, four daughters, Nancy (Mide) Brutsman of Cameron, Julia (Jeff) Harding of Sarasota FL, Helen (Thomas) Stephens of Cameron Mills and Twyla (Kevin) Bates of Sarasota FL, two step-daughters, Cynthia DeCeu of Canandaigua and Suzanne (Steve) Blakeslee of Hornell, one sister, Marilyn Weaver of PA, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Honoring John's wishes there will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at the Bath Veterans Administration Chapel at the convenience of the family. Burial with full military honors will be at the Bath National Cemetery.
