John O. Faulkner, 96, of Co Rt. 50, passed away Monday (April 10, 2017) surrounded by his family.
Born in the Town Of Dansville, September 25, 1920, the son of William and Mabel Osborne Faulkner, he had resided in the area his entire life. John was a graduate of Hornell High School, class of 1939. On October 10, 1941, John married the former Kitty Smidth who predeceased him after 65 years of marriage on November 6, 2006. For the majority of his life he was a self-employed contractor. John was a member of the South Dansville United Methodist Church, where he was the longest living member. He was a charter member of the South Dansville Fire Department and belonged to the South Dansville - Wayland Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge # 0478. John had a great love for Snow Mobiles, Motorcycles, playing cards and camping. Most will remember John for a very sociable person. John was a direct descendant of Daniel Faulkner, of whom the town of Dansville was named after.
He was predeceased by his parents; William and Mabel (Osborne) Faulkner, his wife Kitty, a daughter; Linda Lee Faulkner, 1 brother Vincent Faulkner and his sister Laura Preston.
He is survived by his son; John W. (Linda) Faulkner of Arkport, 4 daughters; Catherine (George) Ott of Perkinsville, Elizabeth (Merle) Wyant of Arkport, Anita (Skip Griffin) Slocum of Hornell and Kelly (Brian) Moore of Arkport, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

The family will be present to receive friends on Friday (4/14/2017) from 11AM-12:45 PM, at the South Dansville United Methodist Church, 9667 County Rd 46. Arkport, NY 14807, a Masonic service will be held at 12:45PM with funeral services following directly at 1PM, Rev. Gregory White officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in South Dansville.
