John A. "Jack" Crooks, 76, of Bradenton, FL., passed away Saturday (December 25, 2004) .



Born in Hornell , September 6, 1928, he was raised in Arkport. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam 'Warsand upon his retirement from the Air Force in 1967, he went to work for theDefense Intelligence Agency in WashingtonDC until his retirement fromcivil service in 1986. He was a memberof the Elks Lodge 1511 and the American Legion Post #31 in Bradenton.



He is survived by hiswife, Norma J. (Kull) Crooks of Bradenton, his sons,Mike (Cheryl) of Green River, WY;Tim of Green River, WY, and John (Cindy) of Minden, LA; his daughter, Leah of Palmetto, Fl; sisters,Mimi Rawady and Gloria Giglioboth of Hornell and Dorothy Ames of Bath;6 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.

The family will be present to receive friends from Noon until 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home,

A graveside service with military honors will follow at Hope Cemetery,Hornell.Following the services, family and friends are invited to a reception atthe Hornell American Legion Post, 72Seneca Street, Hornell, NY
