John "Jack" Bean, 82 a resident of Penfield New York, passed away Monday (April 13, 2026) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Jack was predeceased by his parents, Doris Mather Manry and John C. Bean, his sister Doris Ann Budd, cousin Pat Vogt.

Surviving Jack are his brother, Larry Manry (Renee) , Niece and nephew Traci and Trent Manry, cousins, Kristine (Tommy) Thornhill, Joshua (Heather) Von Rathonyi, Mike, Tommy, Marty and Jamie Voght, Helen Layman, Julie Feenaughty, Vikki Keech and Sarah Horton.

Jack's deep roots in the Southern Tier cultivated in him an extensive knowledge and love for the history of this area. Being a direct descendent of the Seneca Chief Red Jacket, led him to a lifelong interest in Native American heritage. His tools, with which he enjoyed working on everything from bicycles to auto engines were his most prized possessions.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service and burial on Friday (April 17, 2026) at 11:00 AM at Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo.
