HenshawArkport Joanne Henshaw, formerly of 7977 State Route 36 passed away Sunday (January 22, 2023) at the Vincent House in Wayland.Born in Auburn on December 23, 1938 the daughter of Gerald and Maude (Chase) Schofield, she had resided in several areas in New York prior to her moving to Arkport over fifty years ago.She was employed as seamstress for twenty four years at the former Marion Rohr (also affectionately known as “The Panty Shanty”). Joanne will be remembered by family and friends for her love of puzzle books and ice cream as well as spending time with family and watching out her window.She was predeceased by both parents as well as her Husband; James Henshaw, two Step-Daughters; Marsha Hemiel and Marilyn Applebee and a Sister; Carol Schofield.Survivors include her Daughter; Lynn Lantz (Greg Alverson) of Arkport, four Step-Son’s; James (Bonnie) Henshaw of Hornell, William Henshaw of Clay, NY, Stephen Henshaw of Arkport and Louis Henshaw, one Step-Daughter; Janice Czimback of Elmira, two Sisters; Vera Munn of Fla. and Sandra Smith of Brockport, one Granddaughter; Kayla Lantz of Arkport, several Step-Grandchildren, Step-Great Grandchildren, Step- Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.The family will be present to receive friends on Friday (January 27, 2023) from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at The Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell where funeral services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Deacon Robert McCormick will officiate.
