Jessamine E. Brutsman, 95, formerly of Arkport, passed away Wednesday (June 27, 2012) at Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester.



Born in West Union, September 2, 1916, the daughter of John and Flossie Harding Briggs, she had resided in the Hornell/Arkport area all her life. Jessamine was a graduate of the Andover Central School, Class of 1935 and worked for many years as a cook at SUNY Alfred. During WWII she worked at a Defense Plant in Elmira. She was a member of the Arkport United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and was a great cook and baker.



She was predeceased by her beloved son, Daryl, Sister; Gertrude and brothers; Milton, Raymond, Everett and Clyde.



She is survived by her loving Husband Donald and children, Dennis (Linda) Brutsman and James (Pat) Brutsman, grandchildren, Sherrie (Larry) Nacke, Carie An Brutsman, Joseph (Shannon) Brutsman, Andrew (Cassandra) Brutsman, great grandchildren, Summer Nacke, Finn and Annalee Brutsman, siser Bernadine Casse.

The family will be present to receive friends from 10Am until 12Pm on Saturday (June 30, 2012), at the Robertson Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will follow calling hours at 12Pm with Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Alfred Station.



Friends may make memorial contributions to the Monroe Community Hospital who took such wonderful care of her these past months at 436 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620.
