Jeffery L. Hughes, 67 a resident of Nipher Road, Bath NY , passed away Peacefully Wednesday (Dec. 6. 2023) at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira.
Born in Wellsboro, PA., August 7, 1956, he was the son of Clarence “Mike” Hughes and Suzanne House Hughes. He was a graduate of Dansville High School and had worked as a MEO for Town of Wheeler Highway Dept. He spent his early life in Dansville and had resided in Bath for over 35 years.
Jeff was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed hunting. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan,
He was predeceased by his parents, and his Grandparents Glen and Neva House.
Surviving are his wife, Joanie Moose Hughes of Bath, his daughter , Danielle (Matthew) Watson of Trumansburg his sons, Dustin (Stacy) Saltsman of North Carolina, Curtis Rice Jr. of North Carolina, Ryan (Sharalyn) Rice of North Carolina, daughter Sara (Bath) Also surviving are 9 Grandchildren, Alexyn(Skyler), Cody, Brandon, Tyler, Alexander, Christopher, Katherine, Alivian, and Hunter, his Great Grandchildren, Carter and Maddox. Special Mother-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Moose of Savona, Sisters & brothers in law, Annie (Steve), David, Paul (Mary) ,Bill (Lois) and Vicky (Mike), his cousins, Shawn (Jill) House of Hornell, Michelle (Larry) Pfeiffer of Canandaigua, his uncle, Patrick (Darlene) House of Penn Yan, his special Camp Family, and “Our Boys”, Cooper, Ty & Jack.
Friends may visit the family on Tuesday (Dec. 12, 2023) at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce Street in Canisteo from 3PM until 6 PM.
