Jeffery L. Briggs, 41, of 6079 Crosby Creek Rd, passed awayFriday, (November 10, 2006) surroundedby his loving family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer at St.James Hospital.



Born in North Hornell, December 6, 1964, the sonof Eugene and Mildred Henry Briggs, and step mother Janice Briggs. Jeff was a life long resident of the area.



Jeff had attended Alfred Almond Centeral School where he was onthe cross country team.

On Feb.10, 1990 Jeff married his wife the former Lisa Colomaio, who survives.



He had been employed by the former Morrison Knudsen and CSX Railroad.



Jeff owned and operated JB concrete for over 20 years. He was a master craftsman and renowned forintroducing and developing the stamped concrete technique in the Canisteo Valley, where it set a new standard forthe local industry. He was recognized bythe concrete industry and awarded the Knight Settlement award.



Jeff loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. He will be especially remembered for hisnight time 4 wheeler adventures.



He is survived by his wife Lisa, two daughters: CarleyBriggs and Gena Briggs of Hornell,

His father and step mother: Eugene and Janice Briggs ofHornell



His Mother: Mildred Briggs.

Four brothers: Robert Briggs of GA, Richard (Karen) Briggsof Friendship, Jerald Briggs of Wayland, and Scott Briggs of Hornell.



One Step Sister, Crissy(Gary) Plank of South Carolina.

One Step Brother: Andrew (Diana) Ames of Hornell.



Several Aunts,Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, cousins. His life long friends and especially his "brothers from another mother".



The family will be present to receive friends 2-4 & 7-9 PM today, (November12, 2006), at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell.Where private family Funeral serviceswill be held, with Deacon McCormick, Rev. Duddly Jenkins and Rev. Daniel StillerOfficiating.
