Jeanne R. Hapeman, 47, of 6355 Crosby Creek RD., went home to her Lord and Savior along with her mother, on Thursday (February 24, 2011) after battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma for over eight years with grace and dignity.



Born in Hornell, February 5, 1964, the daughter of Ernest and the late Barbara ( Stewart ) Hawkins, she had resided her early years in Canisteo and was a graduate of Canisteo Central School in the Class of 1982. Three years later, she married her husband of 25 years, Brian Hapeman and built a home in the town of Hornellsville.



She served as a customer service representative at Monroe Savings / Key Bank for 13 years and was a Mary Kay Cosmetic Consultant for over 20 years. One of her biggest accomplishments while selling Mary Kay, was winning a car. She also was an instructor at the Hornell YMCA for the "Silver Sneakers" exercising class. For two years, she took part in swing dance and Irish step dancing, both while still receiving treatment for her disease. She also played a large role in her husband's business, Crosby Creek Collision. All throughout her illness, she never lost her faith and continued to share it through speaking at different events such as the Christians Women's Group and also by speaking to her nurses, doctors, fellow patients, friends and family about her strong belief and faith in the Lord.



She was predeceased by her mother, Barbara Hawkins on February 19, 2009.



She is survived by her husband, Brian Hapeman, her daughters, Hannah (19) who attends Alfred State College for Nursing, Bethany (15) attends Canisteo-Greenwood Central School , her father, Ernest Hawkins of Canisteo, her sisters, Susan (George) Askins of Canisteo and Julie (Don) Karns Jr. of Hornell, her brother, Timothy (Betsy) Hawkins of Oakfield, a very dear and close friend, Sandy (Andy) Bertch of Canisteo, brother-in-law, Barry Hapeman of PA., sister-in-law, Brenda Youngs of Prattsburg, brother-in-law, Kyle (Charlene) Hapeman of Prattsburg, family friend, Jane Zurlick of Prattsburg and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church, 6034 County Route 69 on Sunday from 2 PM until 5:00 PM where funeral services will follow calling hours at 5 PM, Rev. Daniel Pickering, Rev. Doug Jones, Rev. Ed Crandall officiating. A reception will follow the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Bennett's Creek Cemetery.
