Jeanne C. Sackett, 76, of 1190 County Route 66, passed away Friday (May 18, 2018) at Highland Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Hornell, November 11, 1941, the daughter of Leo W. and Ruth (Norton) Conkey, she had resided in the Hornell and Almond areas except her working in career in Rochester. She was a member of the Woman of the Moose, VFW Ladies Auxillary, Hornell Legion Auxillary, and the Hornell Association. She was retired from the Rochester Police Department as a secretary and had worked there from 1971-2002.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Michael Conkey, 2 sisters Phyllis Donahue, and Christine Gensler.
She is survived by 2 daughters Susan (Keith) Arno of Brockport, Judith Ann Sackett of Orlando, FL, 4 sisters Vivian Congdon of Canisteo, Kathleen Sexton of Hornell, Helen Remchuk of Savona, Lois Jimerson of Hornell, 6 grandchildren Jessica, Joseph, Christopher, Rebecca, Barlow "BJ", Jordan, 5 great grandchildren Christopher, Noah, Kiersity, Peyton, and Harper, as well as nieces, and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends from 12-2pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where a Remembrance time will follow calling hours at 2:00pm. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo.
