Jeanette E. Butler, 77, formerly of 7437 Hornell-Arkport Road, passed away Monday (March 27, 2017) at the Hornell Gardens.



Born in Hornell, March 31, 1939, the daughter of Donald and Winifred Martin McCollum, she had resided in all her life. She had been employed for several years as a housekeeper for the Sunshine Motel in Hornell prior to her retirement. For several years, she assisted her husband in the operation of their dairy farm in Cameron. She especially enjoyed playing bingo, painting, and trying her luck at scratch off tickets.



She was predeceased by her husband, Duane F. Butler Sr. in 2010, her brother, Donald (Mel) McCollumn and her sister, Sandra Hurd.



She is survived by four daughters; Diana (Lester) Johnson of Hornell, Ann (John) Mullen of Hornell, Deborah (Tracy) Caparulo of Cameron and Sheila (Bruce) Hosmer of Hornell, four sons, Duane F. Butler Jr. of Cameron, David (Deborah) Butler Sr. of Hornell, Timothy Butler (Raymond Tychi) of Hornell and Donald (Romona) Butler of Hornell, her sister, Nancy Dugo of Hornell and her brother Charles ("Chuck") McCollumn of Hornell, her brother-in-law, Larry Hurd of Hornell, several grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.



The family would like to take this opportunity to express appreciation and a special "Thank You" to the staff of the Hornell Gardens for the excellent and compassionate care given to Jeanette over the past nineteen months.
