Jean E. Hosmer, 85, of 48 Joncy Road, passed away Tuesday (November 5, 2013) at Absolut of Houghton.
Born in West Clarksville, NY, June 18, 1928, the daughter of Frances and Myrna (Schenck) Covert, she was a long time resident of Angelica. Jean attained her GED, and later graduated from JCC, with a liberal arts Associates Degree. She was a proud retiree of Highland Nursing Home in Wellsville, where she was a dietary aide.
She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Jeanne Myers in 2006, 2 grandchildren Stephen VanDerLinden, and Nichole "Nikki" LaDue, as well as several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by 3 daughters Carol (Russ) VanDerLinden of Rochester, Kathleen Smith of Angelica, Mary Kay Hotchkiss of Warsaw, 2 sons Terry (Bonnie) LaDue of Florida, David Hosmer of Angelica, 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A Graveside service was held on Friday (November 8, 2013) at Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica, with her grandson Ryan Smith officiating.
