Jane A. Nisbet

Jane A. Nisbet, 82, of 338 Cleveland Ave., passed away Friday (January 22, 2010) at home.
Born in Hornell, September 3, 1927, the daughter of Guy and Hazel (Peck) Harter, she had resided in Hornell all of her life. Jane was employed as a crossing guard for 25 years and then as a bus driver for the Hornell City School District retiring after 27 years. Jane married the love of her life Lynn Nisbet on December 5, 1945. She was a former member of the Hornell Assembly of God church and was currently attending the Canisteo Wesleyan Church. Jane loved meeting with her friends for coffee and most of all her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and all children in general.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband Lynn in 2005.
She is survived by two daughters; Ann (Larry) Murray of Geneseo and Sally (Thomas) MacDougal of Avoca, one son; Richard (Ann) Nisbet of Hornell, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday (January 25, 2010) from 1-3Pm and 6-8Pm at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11AM at the funeral home with Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery.
