James R. "Pat" Duffy

James R."Pat" Duffy, 80, a resident of Wellsville Manor, formerly of County Road 16 Angelica, passed away Wednesday (September 18, 2013).
Born in Wellsville, November 10, 1932, the son of Owen and Catherine (Rockwell) Duffy, he was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Angelica Central School. Pat was retired as a Truck Driver/ Electrician, from Dresser-Rand in Wellsville. He was a communicate of the Holy Family Jesus, Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Belmont, and previously the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Angelica. Pat had also belonged to the American Legion Post #414 in Angelica, the Wellsville Moose, and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
He was predeceased by his parents, a step- son Gordon Burger in 2011, a brother Jack Duffy, and 2 sisters Rita Almeter, and Mary Garnsey.
He is survived by his wife June Youngs Duffy whom her married September 4, 1971, 3 step-daughters Patricia (Wendell) Shattock of Pike, Karen (Jeff) Evans of S.C., Debra (Larry) Brisbee of Scio, 3 step-sons Wayne Burger of Fillmore, Dale Burger of Florida, and Keith Burger of Indiana, a brother Owen "Mike" (Joan) Duffy of Hornell, a sister Annie (Richard) Osgood of PA, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present 4-7 PM on Friday (September 20, 2013), at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue, Angelica. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Holy Family Jesus Mary and Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday at 11:00am. Burial will be in at Alger Cemetery in Hume.
