His bandmates were lifelong friends, and he enjoyed recounting stories and adventures they shared. He was an artist and craftsman who enjoyed woodworking and creating beauty to share with others. He enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles and engines and the "art of the deal"; he was a member of Hornell AMVETS, and former Sargeant-of-Arms for the Northern Riders Motorcycle Club; but above all, he enjoyed his family and doted on them as father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
