View Tribute Book James Edward Ellis Hornell James Ellis, 44, of Pardee Street, passed away unexpectedly Sunday (October 2, 2022) at St. James Hospital.Born in Corning on June 14, 1978, he was the son of Charles and Betty (Conrad) Ellis and was a lifelong resident of Hornell.He was a graduate of Arkport Central School and was employed as Manager of the Hornell Autozone where he obtained his Parts Specialist ASE certification. He was previously employed at Pete’s Automotive where he held several titles such as; Tech Net Technician, Mac Tech, NYS Inspector, Tow Truck Operator and Operational Bay Manager. James loved wrestling, NASCAR, fishing and camping and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He was a member of The Centenary United Methodist Church of Bath as well as a member of The United Methodist Church of Hornell.He was predeceased by both parents.Survivors include his wife of 19 years; Marjorie (Nichols) Ellis of Hornell, a Step-Daughter; Jennifer (Charles) Torrence of Hornell, three Brothers; Doug (Sue) Dewey of Canisteo, Mike Balducci of Hornell and Harold Ellis of Alaska, two sisters; Lois Rippy of Washington State and Tess Bennett of California, one Grandson; Kyle Orr of Hornell and many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of James’s life will be held by the family at a future date.Those wishing to remember James are asked to consider a memorial contribution to; The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or to The Elmira Animal Shelter 842 Linden Place, Elmira NY 14901.
