Jacqueline J Dale, 89, formerly of
17 West Genesee St where she resided withher daughter Nancy Dobson for 7 years, passed away Thursday (November 29, 2007) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in Charlotte,NC, March 31, 1918, the daughter of Baxter and Susie Rohleder Johnston, she had resided in Hornell, since 1997. Jacqueline originallymoved to Hornell in 1955 and then to Alfred in 1959 and from Alfred to Virginia in 1976. Shehad worked as a secretary for the Director of Athletics at Alfred University,and retired from the Plant Pathology andPhysiology as a secretary at Virginia Poly-Tech in 1983. Jacqueline and herhusband had owned and operated theformer Hornell Business Schooluntil it's closing in 1959. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Churchin Hornell from 1955-65, a member of the Union University Church from 1965-76,and most recently a member of the Third Presbyterian Church of Charlotte until1997. Jacqueline was a member of the Alfred Gourmet Club, the
Jenny Rockwell Circlein Hornell, volunteered at the former Bethesda Hospitaland was an avid Bridge player.
She was predeceased by her former husband Larry L Dale on December 28, 1997, whom she married March 3, 1947. She was also predeceased by herbrother Grayson Johnston in 2005, her sister LuraHarmon in 2007, and her Step grandson William "BJ" Dobson in 2006.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy (William) Dobson ofAlmond, her son Gordon (Susanne) Dale ofAngelica, her sister Jean (Fred) Bruton of Texas, 2grandchildren Timothy (Amy) Clark, Kelly Levert, great grandson, KeaganLevert, 2 step grandchildren Heidi Dobson, and Jeff(Vicki) Dobson and 2 step greatgrandchildren Jeff Dobson Jr. and Britteny Dobson,and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

354 Canisteo St,Hornell, where a private Funeral service will be held with Rev. Michael Childsofficiating. Burial will be in ForestLawn Cemetery West in Charlotte,NC.
