Jacob N. Nelson, 32, a resident of North Main Street Extension in Hornell, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Jacob was born on February 5, 1994, in Dansville to Michele Ashley and David Nelson. He spent his entire life in the Hornell area, where he built lifelong friendships and cherished the people he loved most.

Above all else, Jacob loved being a father. His children were the center of his world, and he treasured every moment he spent with them. Whether making memories together or simply enjoying time as a family, nothing brought him greater happiness than being with his kids. He also deeply loved his family and held a special place in his heart for Bethany. Jacob loved the Green Bay Packers and was an avid fan. In his free time Jacob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and carpentry. Whether he was outdoors, working with his hands, or surrounded by the people he loved most, he found his greatest happiness simply spending time with his kids and family.

He was predeceased by the mother of his sons, Bethany Leach.

Surviving are his father, David Nelson of Hornell; his mother, Michele Ashley of Hornell; his daughter, Mila Nelson of Hornell; his sons, Ethan and Seth Nelson of Jasper; his sister, Megan (James Leposa) Nelson of Rochester; his brothers, Daniel Ashley of Perry and Ethan Nelson of Dansville.

Also surviving are his uncle, James Nelson, and Aunt, Sharon Walling, both of Hornell, and his cousins, Alex Nelson, Matthew Nelson, Connor Nelson, and Lindsey Nelson, all of Hornell.

There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a time and place to be announced.
