Irene Stephens Lyke, 88, of East Washington Street, passed away Wednesday (July 31, 2013) at the Taylor Health Care Center in Bath where she had resided the past year.



Born in Hornell, July 17, 1925, the daughter of James O. and Bessie Peacock Stephens, she had resided in Hornell all her life. She retired after 20 years of service with the former SKF Indurtries in Hornell, as well as retiring after 20 years of service with the former Erie Rail Road in Hornell.



She was predeceased by her parents and one sister, Florence Cook.



She is survived by her sister, Margaret Maccio of East Rochester, and nieces & nephews; Marjorie McCullagh of North Dakota, Charlene Cook of North Carolina, Wendy Russell of Jamesville, Mark Maccio of East Rochester, Lee Maccio of Florida and Elaine Maccio of Louisiana.

There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday (Aug. 9, 2013) at 1Pm at the East Rochester United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.



Friends wishing may make memorial contributions to the Steuben County Senior Citizens Services.
