Hugh B. "Bertie" Campbell, 89, of 4260 Co Rte 21, passedaway unexpectedly Saturday (December 15, 2007) shortly after arrival at St. JamesHospital.
Born in Town Of Canisteo, September 9, 1918, the son of John and Maude Broughton Campbell, he had resided in the Canisteo areaall his life. He had been employed atCorning Glass, and several years in construction. He retired from Crowley Dairy in 1981 after30 years of service. Bertie will beremembered as an avid square dancer.
He was predeceased by his parents. 3 sisters, Mabel Rynders,Cora Welch and Ida Dennis, his brother, William Campbell, his daughter DonnaSanford and one niece and one nephew.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Butler Campbell whom hemarried April 24, 1944, 2 daughters, Darlene (Dan) Farrand of Addison,Christine (David) Waters of Greenwood, his son, John (Debra) Campbell ofCameron, his son-in-law, William Sanford of Cameron, Mary's brothers andsisters whom they were honored to raise as their own, Charles Butler, GlenButler, Duane Butler, Ella Butler O'Dell and Blanche Butler Campbell, 7Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
The family will be presentto receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Brown &Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo where funeral services will beheld on Thursday at 11:00 AM, Rev. ToddMitchell officiating. Burial will be in Gulley Cemetery,Town Of Jasper.
