Herbert K. Gleason, 69, of 6311 A Feathers Creek Road, passed away unexpectedly Friday (May 11, 2012) Jones Memorial Hospital.



Born in Wellsville, August 18, 1942, the son of Donald H. and Hazel M. (Arthur) Gleason, he was a lifelong area resident. Herbert served for 26 years in the Army and National Guard beginning in November 1962. He also had worked for the Friendship Foundry, and retired from API in Arcade as a maintenance technician. Herbert also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun collecting, and was an all around handyman.



He was predeceased by his parents, his 2 sisters Marie Rodriguez, and Ruth Quaintance, and 2 brothers in laws William Rodriguez, and Ivan Quaintance.



He is survived by his wife Margaret (Collmer) Gleason whom he married December 21, 1963, 2 daughters Arlene (Ben) McCaslin of Belmont, Robin Gleason of Wellsville, a son Donluray Gleason of Belmont, 4 grandchildren Chad (Amanda) McCaslin of Whitesville, Rachel McCaslin of Belmont, Dustin Gleason of Belmont and Wyatt Gleason of Belmont , 1 great granddaughter Rylee McCaslin, a sister Betty (Donald) Quaintance of N. Tonawanda, 3 brothers Eugene (Joyce) Gleason of Livonia, Donald Gleason of Avon, David (Mary) Gleason of Il, and several nieces and nephews.



The family will be present 2-4 & 7-9PM Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave, Angelica, where Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Marc Chamberlain officiating.
