Helen DeVore Huffling, 67 , formerly of Hornell, passed away Thursday evening (Aug. 13, 2009) at her home in Bunnell, Florida.



Born in Hornell, October 27, 1941, the daughter of Morris and Laura Morse Stewart, she was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1959. She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1995, and was employed by TJ Maxx, until moving to Florida in 2008.



She was predeceased by her parents, her son Roger DeVore in 1961 and her brother, Robert Haight in 1995.



Surviving are 3 daughters, Michele DeVore Letson of Rome, Vicki (Scott) Groth of Florida, Valerie DeVore-Palo of Ellenville, one son, Shawn (Lori) DeVore of Florida, 2 sisters, Alice Reynolds of Hornell, Linda Butler of Michigan, one brother, Mark Butler of Michigan, 11 Grandchildren; Nicole Letson, Danielle Letson, Michael Letson Jr., Kayla Groth, Casey Groth, Nicholas Groth, Tyler Palo, Emily Palo, Krysta DeVore, Kadin DeVore and Carl DeVore, nieces and nephews.



The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell on Wednesday from 4 PM until 7PM where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM with Rev. Dudley Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
